Nearly 200,000 U.S. college students now study abroad each year, and that number has been growing steadily over the past decade. The November 2005 report to the U.S. Congress from the Commission on the Abraham Lincoln Study Abroad Fellowship Program recommends
strategies to send one million students abroad annually by 2017.
